Responsibilities Coordination of vessels during its time in the port/s. Gather and maintain up-to-date information on port facilities, restrictions, and operational guidelines Provide operational assistance for the vessel operators during the port call. Develop commercial relationships with ports / port officials / terminals / etc. Vessel Inspections for commercial / vetting / fleet / QSHE departments. Negotiation of rates with stevedores, agents and other services needed in the port. To work closely with each terminal’s management and stevedores, i.e. holding pre-planning meetings, attending port meetings, etc. Manage Cargo stowage and Cargo intake optimization. Project assistance for chartering, cargo and port inspection. Ensure all cargo identified are safe for transportation in accordance with IMSBC and Dangerous Goods Code. Arrange cleaning of equipment and/or gangs for cargo hold. Manage storage and maintenance of own equipment. Maintain and update vessel data in AXS-Marine database Requirements Chief Officer, Master Mariner, or equivalent maritime operational experience Able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across cultures and operating environments Basic knowledge of loading, unloading, and transportation of all cargo types on seagoing ships Able to source suppliers (e.g. stevedores, agents) and negotiate competitive rates Compile and analyze data from multiple sources into reports/spreadsheets to support management decision-making Service-oriented and a positive team player Able to board vessels at anchorage/ports, including climbing ladders and working outdoors Able to work across time zones in line with shipping industry requirements Open to new cargo handling methods; able to assess safe vs unsafe practices Strong organizational, IT, and time-management skills under pressure and tight timelines Excellent written and spoken English communication skills Knowledge of additional regional local languages is an added advantage Contact Ellaine Lega
